What we keep

This is what we keep when you play, and when you save your towns online. If you never sign in, your towns stay in this browser and we don't get them.

What we keep

Why

Staying signed in

When you sign in, your browser keeps a cookie that tells our server it's you. It lasts 90 days, or until you sign out. When you ask for a sign-in code, your browser also keeps a cookie for 15 minutes, so the code only works in the browser that asked for it.

What stays in this browser

The game keeps your towns in this browser's storage, so it works without the internet. When you're signed in it also keeps there your account's ID and nickname, your account's towns, which of them the server already has, and which of this browser's towns you were already asked about. Signing out removes the account's towns, ID and nickname from this browser. Towns the game set aside (for example the one you didn't keep) and the note of which towns you were asked about stay in this browser.

Emails

Our emails are sent through SMTP2GO, an email service. It gets the email address and the email we send, so it can deliver it.

The game's font

The game and its home page load their font from Google Fonts, so Google sees your internet (IP) address when your browser gets the font.

How long we keep it

Your email address, nickname, towns and the times above are kept until the account is deleted. Copies in our nightly backups are removed within 30 days.

Deleting the account

In the game, press Towns, then Delete account. We email a grown-up a link. Nothing is deleted until they open it and press Delete. Then the account, with its email address, nickname and towns, is deleted from our server. Copies in our nightly backups are removed within 30 days.

Towns saved only in this browser stay in this browser.
